Post Chemo Days

Here's a quick update. I've pretty much spent the last 3 days asleep. Seriously. Like sleeping 22 hours a day. I've just kept in top of my anti-nausea meds and I think they just knock me out. Better to be asleep than over the toilet, right?!

I hope I pull out of this soon. But this is reality for now. My sweet husband is doing a great job of handling everything around here.

  1. Sitting here Christmas eve thinking about you. My breast cancer was in 1996. In reading your blogs, there have been many changes, all for the best. I agree with a double mastectomy. Reconstructed breasts are not like normal, in that they don't respond to gravity. To reconstruct both, they will be more alike, plus no worries about cancer in the other one. I'm glad you got a port. I was stuck so many times, my veins are shot. I did get shots to start my blood marrow to start producing, but two weeks after chemo and then one week to start the process all over again. Also, this way you won't be so prone to getting infections.
I've been praying for you and your family. No one has any idea of what your going through but one that's been there. But also, I know you will beat this damn cancer. You have the best doctors and hospital. The advances that have been made in health care for breast cancer will help you.
I know you have faith in the healing power of Priesthood blessings. Rely on them often, they are a comfort also.
Don't worry about the hair. It grows back, even prettier and actually curly at the beginning. ( wierd, but true).
Rely on the Savior. He suffered this pain and understands what you are experiencing like no other. He will be at your side and catch your fall when you need him.
Let others help, and never feel guilty. You can pay it forward for the rest of your life.
Jen, know my thoughts and prayers are with you. This will not be easy, but over soon and you will be better than before. Love and prayers going your way.💗
